Frequently asked questions

How can I do a moderated test on CubeGO?

At the moment, Moderated testing can only be done on Desktop testing. Follow these steps: * Participants' webcam will be used by CubeGO. You must ask them to not share their webcam with you through the meeting app. 1) Schedule an appointment with your participants.
2) Send them an invitation to a web meeting.
3) When your meeting starts, ask them to share their screen.

Tip: Do not talk to the participant during the task. We are measuring their facial emotions, and talking does not allow for the facial emotions to be tracked.

What are the limitations when testing on iPhone versus Android?

Testing an App: You cannot test an App on an iPhone. The reason being is once you leave the CubeGO app on an iPhone, the recording stops. However, on an Android, you can leave the Android app and still record.

How do I build a test?

Guidance on how to build a test is located in the CubeGO manual. If you still have questions, please contact us. Email: info@cubehx.com

Why isn’t the eye-tracking working for a participant?

CubeGO's remote eye-tracking heavily depends on the participants following the rules for the test. Reasons, why eye-tracking might not work, are the following. Lighting*: The participants had lighting during the test behind them or to the side of them.
Head Centered*: The participant did not keep their head centered during the test. Even with the lack of eye data for that participants, all is not lost. Emotion, eye movement, and survey should all still be good data. * If the participant did not follow the rules, tell us within 48 hours and we will credit the test, and not pay the participants.

How long does it take to process a participants data?

This depends on how long the video is and the quality of the recording. It can take as little as 10 minutes, or as much as 2 hours to process a video.

A participant had bad lighting during a test. What do i do?

Participants that did not follow the guidelines and should not be compensated. Please let us know if the participants did not follow the rules as we will need to inform them that they will not be compensated. A failed participant will not be charged to you and you will be credited the test.

How can I export the data from CubeGO?

CubeGO allows for the raw data to be exported. 1) Go to the aggregated results page 2) Click Export.

I have a participants who didn’t keep their head centred during the test. What do I do?

A participant that did not follow the guidelines and should not be compensated. Please let us know if the participants did not follow the rules as we will need to inform them that they will not be compensated. A failed participant will not be charged to you and you will be credited the test.

Where does CubeGO find participants when I use the CubeGO recruitment for me option?

CubeGO participants are found through a partnership with CInt. We suggest using our recruitment tool when doing a test of less importance (ie you have an idea and are looking for insights). When carrying out a major UX test, we suggest using your panel or using a company like Userinterviews.com as they allow for more targeted recruitment, allowing you to know exactly who you will be testing.

Can I use my own participants for a test?

Yes, of course! Select the "Self" option when building a test.

Emotions and false positive results

CubeGO is an advanced remote neuro-testing solution. It is always possible that a participant did something that could have thrown the emotional data off for a moment. Yawns, cough, talking, sneezing can throw off the readings. If you see a moment of interest. Watch the recording to ensure nothing out of the ordinary happened.

On a smartphone, can I test an app or just a website?

If you want to test a mobile App, you can only do this on an Android phone. App testing does not work on iPhones.

Which browser should I use CubeGO in? (Hint it's Chrome)

CubeGO works best in Chrome. We strongly suggest you only use Chrome when using CubeGO.

What is the URL for the Desktop testing site?

The URL is: https://participate.dev.cubehx.com/

What does CubeGO capture?

- Facial Movements which we use for emotions: Positive Valence, Negative Valence, Happy, Surpised, Neutral, Anger, Fear, Sadness and Disgust - Eye Tracking which we use for: Eye-Movement, Blink Rates - Sound

What success rate can I expect?

As mentioned, remote user testing has its unique challenges. Our customers see a 70%-75%* success rate when running a test. A successful test is a test where eye-tracking, facial emotion, and survey responses are all captured perfectly. Should the eye-tracking not work for a test, we do not consider this successful, however more than likely you will be able to get meaningful data from the facial emotion, client journey video, and survey. *Important: You will NOT be charged for tests that do not succeed.

Can I add an external survey to a test?

We suggest that all CubeGO tests should be done with some kind of survey component alongside it. We have built-in an External test link upload, where you can enter a link to your survey, and after the participant completes their test, they will automatically receive the link to the post-test survey. (we suggest, in your recruitment to let testers know they will need to complete a post-test survey. Also, in CubeGO, we have given you the opportunity to build survey questions directly in the app. These include NPS, SUS, SEQ, Likert, and custom questions.
